We're totally committed to reducing our impact on the environment while rocking out to amazing tunes at Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT.

What’s happening troops? This festival season we are on a mission to play our part in taking climate action, but we need you help along the way, so tune in for the lowdown…

Sustainable Fashion

Shopping sustainably creates better working conditions for people and the planet. Pick up a vintage polo, have a game of who wore it better with yer pal, or simply choose better quality materials - our fashion choices make a real difference.

Travel home cheap and cheerfully, with trains, free bus travel for under 22’s and loads of coaches – it’s a no brainer!
Check out our ‘Getting Here’ section for tips on how you can reach the festival responsibly.
Let’s play our part by making sustainable travel choices.

Keep the Site Clean & Use the Right Bins

Time for some trash talk - By using our composting bins to recycle cups and food containers, you’re helping to turn waste into energy and heat for Scottish homes.
Let's keep our festival site spick and span while using the right bins. Let’s Play Our Part and maximise composting – supporting sustainable energy and heat production.

Reduce Plastic Waste

Stay hydrated and help reduce plastic waste.
We've set up free to use water points across the site where you can refill your bottle again and again.
It's super simple… bring a soft or collapsible water bottle and use our water points to keep your bottle filled.
Quick note: Make sure your refillable water bottle is made of soft, collapsible material and holds 500ml or less. We have reusable water bottles available to purchase here.
Psst...Forgot your water bottle? We have reusable water bottles available to purchase at the merch stand located on-site!
Do not bring single-use disposable vapes. These are prohibited items as they pollute the environment and incorrect disposal can be hazardous at waste centres.

Cup Return

Fancy the chance to win some exclusive prizes? Well, we run a tight ship, no a s**** tip, so please - recycle your empty cups over at the cup return tent to be entered into our prize draw!
Be sure to download our app for access to the festival site map, to locate the cup return tent, and to get information on the prizes you can win!

More Plant-Based Options Available

Hank marvin mate? Big Feed have instaworthy scran with tonnes more plant-based options on the menu using sustainably sourced local produce.
Make sure you download our app for more information on available options from specific traders. Three quarters of traders in 2023 had at least one plant-based meal on their menu, with plans in place for more this year.
We can all Play Our Part by choosing a planet-friendly option and digging into some veggie or vegan goodness!

No Music on a Dead Planet

With NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET on site, you can find ways to join the movement and get involved with thousands of music fans taking climate action together each month. Supported by Declan McKenna, Caity Baser, Blossoms, Nova Twins, The Vaccines and many more artists.
We will also have Eden Project on site, bringing the fun to sustainability with free ‘make your own head garland’ workshops.

As proud signatories of the Green Nation Sustainability Charter, we're here to preserve the live music experience for generations to come. Being Scotland's biggest music festival, we're on a mission to use our creativity to drive positive social and environmental change. We’ve already exceeded major targets in the charter, including:

  • Since 2022, investing in sustainable biodiesel for generators and on-site vehicles, which produces 90% lower emissions than regular diesel.

  • Between 2022 and 2023, reducing emissions from energy by a further 10% through efficiency measures.

  • Recycling 66% of our waste in 2023, a 1% increase on 2022.

  • Not sending any waste to landfill for the past three years.

  • 89% of traders last year offered a meat-free option, reducing food emissions.

  • Worked with local organisations including Advanced Clothing Solutions, R:evolve, Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, and Glasgow Eco Trust to help us achieve our sustainability goals.

We're also members of Vision:2025, an amazing network of over 500 outdoor events and businesses that are taking serious climate action. As members, we're all about reducing our climate impact, measuring our emissions annually, and working to share experiences and develop best practices in the events industry.
